I apologise I have not written in so long a time. We have been very busy planning for our new life together. We have been searching for a new appartment and it is very hard to find something we can afford to buy. Now we have holidays but so does everyone else, so I fear our search will start in September again.
We went to England twice this summer, in July and again in early August, then to visit a friend who is working on a project in Wales. He is in Cardiff which is an interesting ancient place. Wales has beautiful landscapes.
We had heat in June, and were very worried that the summer would be hot as it was before, but it grew cooler in July. When we were in England and Wales it was rainy and mild.
Pierre-Philippe speaks English much better now, and I somewhat worse, but it is good to make these small trips as he is busy. We think to visit Amsterdam for a weekeend soon.
How is your summer passing? I hope you are having a pleasant time! | comments: 19 comments or Leave a comment |

I hope you are well. As ever, all is so busy! My mother has returned to Paris, but a friend of hers is ill, so she has gone to Nice for several weeks. In one way it is good to have her here and to spend time with her, but it also takes a great deal of time as she requires much attention. She now asks if we can help her find an apartment to live, and wants us to buy an apartment near her future home. But we have different ideas of where we shall live to her ideas!
My father has been again to the doctor, and all of the tests show he is much better, so I am very happy with this. He has even said he would be fit enough to see my mother, which was a surprise for me!
So all is well and very busy. We try to go away on the weekends to see friends and relatives, and will return to the south of France again more in the summer.
I wish you a good week! | comments: 26 comments or Leave a comment |

I thank you for all of your kind words and thoughts. I have been so very busy! My mother has decided to leave London and move to Paris to help me prepare for the wedding. My brother warned me of this, and he is right! He says if I am not careful she will make it her wedding, not mine. I try to be careful with her, but between my work, studies, wedding preparation and searching for a new home, I am exhausted every night!

I have a question for you. My life is now changing very much (I wrote what is happening in the last friends posting) and I know now that I will have almost no time!
( The questions ) I will appreciate very much the information you give me, and I thank you! | comments: 13 comments or Leave a comment |

I am sorry to be so long away, we celebrated Easter and then took a spring holiday. When we returned to Paris we were so very busy, Pierre-Philippe with his work, I with my work and my studies that I had no time to write in the LiveJournal.
But now I have something wonderful to say! Pierre-Philippe has asked me if I will marry him, and I have said yes! He asked me when we were in the countryside, and we and our families are very very happy. We do not yet have the date, perhaps in the autumn.
But as you know, I have had very little time this year, and not been able to write in the LJ, nor read your words. And now that we will plan the wedding and search for a new home, I fear it will be very impossible for me to make time for the LJ.
I will ask in the next posting what you wish me to do in the LJ. Here is the link to the questions http://www.livejournal.com/users/mtl/7506.html#cutid1
I wish you all that is wonderful, and send my love! | comments: 58 comments or Leave a comment |

Tomorrow I will accompany my father to the doctor, one test was rescheduled, so he will be busy with doctors all this week. I also am making plans to seek spring with Pierre-Philippe, perhaps we will find it!
A good day to you! | comments: 20 comments or Leave a comment |

I shall be very busy as I shall accompany my father to his examinations with the doctors. I think he is much better, but they check him again.

| Alexandre Dumas referred to this place in his novel "La Reine Margot." Corneille wrote "La Place Royale." These arcades were the domain of the merchants, who sold their wares according to the dictates of Henry IV.

Henry IV ordered this square designed after Catherine de Médicis' vision of combining cut stones. The great architectes, painters and sculptors helped build this, beginning in 1604. Among others, Jacques II Androuet Du Cerceau, Louis Métezeau, Le Vau, Le Brun, Mignard, all of these contributed. A masterwork of balance and elegance, it is encircled by 36 pavillions above the arcades (9 for each of the 108 m. of a side) consisting of 2 stories. The height of the façades is equal to their width, and the height of the rooftops equals the half of the measure of the façades. ( More about the Place des Vosges ) The city of Paris thought to make this place a parking garage, but this project was abandoned in 1970, and the trees were replanted. The renovation of the square and the fountains only happened in 1988! | comments: 13 comments or Leave a comment |
| Hello to you! It is Friday and the weekend is almost here!
Look at the light in this photograph! Sometimes in the spring and autumn, the twilight will become this violet. It is so beautiful!

| Hello to you!

A photo of autumn, of the Médicis fountain in the Luxembourg Gardens.
I dined with my friend last night who is studying art conservation at the Louvre. We had a wonderful time, and she told me of the cellars beneath the Louvre where they keep the art, and also where they do some studying. I would love to see those, and she will ask if one day I can. That would be so interesting!
